Did you know that the president of the United States is called the Commander in Chief? Besides being the Commander in Chief, the president of the United States has many other important responsibilities. There are many tasks he or she has to do while being the president. The president should have good personal values, qualities, and characteristics. He or she should have job experience, education, and training in certain areas. There are many jobs a person has to do when he or she is president.

The president plays an important role in representing the United States of America. He or she has the opportunity to help our country and make the world a better place. The president is in charge of all the armed forces. The president also helps create foreign and domestic policy. Another responsibility of the president is to determine trade policies between the United States of America and other countries. A fourth responsibility of the president is to approve fiscal policy (the yearly budget). The president can also start programs to help with finances, jobs, or other problems. There are certain personal values, qualities and characteristics a good president should have.

Good qualities, personal values, and characteristics all matter when it comes to being a leader of the United States. A president should definitely have a good, strong image in public. This means having confidence. The president should be extremely fair. He or she should be willing to look at all sides of an issue. Being friendly to racial issues is another important quality a president should have. A president has to be able to handle any kind of emergency at any time. Working under pressure is something that a president should do well. The job experience, training, and education the president has are also really important.

I think that in order for the president to be effective, he or she has to have in depth experience, training and education in certain areas. I think a president should have job experience in government. I also think that a president needs experience in state policy making such as budget, legislation, and social programs. Having served in the military would help, since the president is in charge of all the armed forces. The president should also have some congressional exposure, this means having a good understanding of how Congress works. I think the president should have worked at the state level of government. He or she should be accomplished in public speaking and delegation. A president should also be trained for working with advisors. The education of a president is one of the most important parts. The president should most definitely have education in business. They should have education in law. Being educated in political history is another important factor. Together these elements provide the president with the background the job requires.

Now you know why the president of the United States is called the Commander in Chief. A president has many different responsibilities and has to respond to critical situations and make difficult decisions. The president has to juggle about twenty balls at a time. The job reminds me of being in middle school and having fifteen projects due at one time, continuously. He or she needs good qualities, personal values, and characteristics. To be an effective president, one needs in depth training and the trust of the country. Being president is a very demanding job.
